That it took as late as Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if we do, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament need to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will win from any position has become more firm - this success following win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.
