AC Shadows Introduces Bizarre AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that defies traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Disclosed
According to the formal release, "A mysterious encounter leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of prohibited rituals and fearsome transformations reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a hidden sect.
The questline centers on "peculiar experiments and a fearsome foe" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Transformations
The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a powerful moment showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Extra Features
Players who accomplish the mission will receive an unique katana together with multiple items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Update
This release also brings the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature techniques: Naoe debuts a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
